Deforestation means the indiscriminate cutting down of trees and the burning of forest. The causes of deforestation are many. People cut down trees in large number to make quick profit from them. It has a negative effect on environment. Because of deforestation carbon-dye-oxide is increasing rapidly in the air. It causes global warming which hampers ecological balance. It brings about various natural disasters. It affects our agriculture. It also endangers wild life. We can prevent deforestation by taking some measures. Tree plantation programs should be expended to the remote corner of the country. The government should take T.V and radio programs on the subject of afforestation.
